At Moxie, trust is part of everything we do. Whether you're purchasing a piece online, visiting our showroom, or collaborating with us on a bespoke design, you're sharing information with us, and we take that responsibility seriously.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. We've written it in plain English and in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

When you place an order, enquire about a product, book an appointment, subscribe to our newsletter, or commission a bespoke piece, we may collect information such as your name, contact details, physical and postal address, order information, and any correspondence you have with us. If you're creating a custom piece, we may also collect ring sizes, design preferences, sketches, reference images, and other information needed to bring your ideas to life.

When you visit our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools. This helps us understand how visitors use our website and improve the experience for everyone who visits it.

In some circumstances, we may be required by law to collect identity verification documents and related information in order to comply with obligations under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA). Where this applies, the information collected is used only for compliance purposes and handled with the same care and confidentiality as all other information we hold.

If you visit our showroom, CCTV footage may be recorded for the safety and security of our customers, team members, premises and stock. Appropriate signage is displayed to notify visitors that CCTV is in operation.

We use personal information to process and deliver orders, manage appointments, create bespoke jewellery, provide customer support, maintain business and accounting records, comply with legal obligations, and protect our customers, staff and premises.

 

Where you have asked to hear from us, we may also send occasional updates about new collections, launches, events and other Moxie news. You can unsubscribe from these communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly.

4. Who Do We Share Your Information With?

We do not sell personal information.

In order to operate our business, we may share information with trusted service providers who assist us with website hosting, payment processing, accounting services, courier deliveries, professional advice and other essential business functions. We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Some of the service providers we use may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect personal information and that information is handled in a manner consistent with applicable data protection requirements.

CCTV recordings are generally retained for approximately two months before being automatically overwritten or securely deleted. Where information is collected to comply with FICA requirements, it may be retained for longer periods where this is required by law.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request deletion of information where we are not legally required to retain it, and object to certain processing activities.
